Welcome to owenrudge.net!

Welcome to the online home of Owen Rudge! I'm a student studying Computer Science, and this is my personal site which has evolved over the years from a small site about Visual Basic to a sprawling mass of relatively random stuff. I do a lot of programming and web development in a variety of languages (including C/C++, Visual Basic, and PHP). Click here to find out more about me.

This site contains a good smattering of information on Visual Basic, the GEM GUI for DOS, my OSPlus utility kit for DOS, the fantastic game Transport Tycoon, the FreeDOS operating system, the Age of Empires game, and includes some miscellaneous utilities you can download. It also some personal stuff such as my blog, and a gallery of desktop screenshots, DesktopShots! Feel free to explore using the navigation bar at the top of the page. Be warned that a lot of the information hasn't been updated in some time, such as the Visual Basic section - since becoming a student, I've ended up with a lot less free time!

Is there something you would like to see on owenrudge.net? Just want to get in touch? Drop me a line!

Site news: About Me update

published: 24th June 2008

I’ve finally updated the About Me page with more information, well, about me! To be more precise, I’ve split it up into a few different pages, depending on what you want to know about me, and I’ve updated details of the likes of the open source projects I’ve worked on.

On another, unrelated, note, I’m thinking I will stick my entire site in a Subversion repository, to make maintenance easier, and also to provide a nice history feature - if I update something and break it entirely, I can go back and figure out what caused the breakage a lot more easily. While this’ll make more or less no difference to you, the end user and visitor, it’ll be beneficial to me. :)

Latest blog: TT meet photos up

published: 19th August 2008

My photos from this year’s TT meet are up in the gallery. Also included are some photos I took of my sightseeing in London the following day. The film of the meet will be following in the probably somewhat distant future.
